Our Mission and Convictions

At Personal Remedies our aim is to provide health and diet information that is:

  • Personalized to your unique situation,
  • Accessible to you at any time and from anywhere,
  • Simple to understand and act upon,
  • Brief so that within a few seconds you can get your answer,
  • Based on authoritative and highly respected sources and,
  • Biased towards natural and commonly available foods and remedies, as opposed to supplements, drugs or surgery.

These goals and our ability to deliver on them are what differentiates us from other sites.

What we are not

We are not here to diagnose or treat diseases but provide information from respected and authoritative sources. Much of this information is based on the outcome of statistical studies, which by their nature do not predict individual results, but rather the outcome of a regimen across a large number of cases or individuals. You must exercise good judgment in using this information. We emphatically counsel moderation, and an informed and healthy skepticism about claims of extravagant or dramatic results; in our experience, most such claims are bogus. We are prodigal in documenting the sources of our information, and urge you to check our references if you have questions or doubts, or if you just want to be better informed.

We are not here to prescribe or recommend medications but to offer you authoritative and publicly available information about natural remedies, foods, alternatives, and actions that may help or otherwise serve your purpose. Nor do we suggest that you stop or cut back medications prescribed or recommended by your doctor. We strongly and urgently recommend that you follow the advice of your doctor, or other trained and licensed medical professional (dietician, physical therapist, nurse practitioner, etc.).

We are not here to overwhelm you with lengthy and boring content. We are here to provide you with a brief list of what to do and what not to do to address your personal and unique combination of health conditions, risks, diet preferences or aspects of your body and mind. We provide a brief summary, using a patent pending methodology, of an enormous amount of information, much of it provided by government agencies such as the USDA and the NIH, but also many other authoritative sources.

We are not here to promote any particular life-style, diet or medical philosophy, but to summarize, personalize and present authoritative, publicly available information on diet, health and natural remedies for various health conditions. We neither manufacture nor distribute any diet plan, diet supplement, herb, natural food, over the counter (OTC) drug, prescription drug, nor any other nostrum. This web site, our software and our knowledgebase are our only offerings.
